Gridiron Football Carolina is part of the nationwide initiative designed to grow the game of football and enhance the culture of American football. It was created by former NFL players and executives in conjunction with football coaches, players, and organizations across the country.
15 football players from Leesville Road High School in Raleigh have been chosen by Gridiron Football to be NFL Ambassadors. The students will invest their time as mentors to younger kids, using football to teach, lead, befriend, and serve in their community. Each mentor meets certain criteria in order to be part of the program, including having a 3.0 GPA or above, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills, and providing at least one character references from a teacher, coach, or school administrator.
Each Saturday from August to October, the ambassadors and the young participants will gather at events to practice, bond, and share their love of football together.
