PULASKI, N.Y. (WHAM) - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation said an upstate New York man woke up in a panic after a snake fell from the ceiling above him.
On June 29, a New York State DEC officer was called to a home in the village of Pulaski, which is located approximately 25 miles northeast of Oswego.
The man who called reported that a large snake had fallen from the ceiling.
The officer later determined that the snake was a six-foot-long red-tailed boa constrictor and had escaped its enclosure in the apartment above the man who was sleeping. The snake then entered the ceiling and fell through into the apartment below.
The officer brought the snake back to its owner. The snake's owner legally had possession of the reptile.
