Bridging The Gap Between Veterans and Pit Bulls

Service Dog

Over 22 veterans a day are lost to suicide, which is now the leading cause of death in the military, surpassing war. Over 3,000 Pit Bulls are killed every day. American Pitbull Foundation is the first organization to bridge the gap between the two. They exclusively train rescued pit bulls as service dogs to help our veterans overcome the daily struggle of PTSD and depression.

I got to sit down with Sara K. Ondrako, the Founder & CEO of APBF, to talk more about the organization's mission and process. Scotty, a service dog in training, also tagged along to show us how well-behaved and sweet Pitbulls are.

Operation Sidekick will be attending Durham's NC Comic Con November 8th-10th. Admission is FREE for Veterans and Active Military.
