Cold weather has hit in Raleigh and Fall is upon us! There are tons of great things to do in Raleigh during October (like N.C. State Fair, Halloween Safe Night, etc.) but one of my favorites is visiting Hill Ridge Farms in Youngsville. Hill Ridge is a farm-themed park boasting animals, an 80-ft. slide & train rides, plus exhibits on old-timey life. From September to November, you're also able to take home you're very own pumpkin!
We started our visit with a short hayride out to the pumpkin patch and picked out our own to take home. The hayride itself is a lot of fun but it's an added benefit that the pumpkin is INCLUDED in your ticket! After picking out a pumpkin, you can then head to their small restaurant and enjoy Apple Cider and Apple Cider donuts. (I got both!) I also enjoyed checking out the farm animals and feeding them some for 25 cents.
Hillridge Farms is fun for kids AND adults! There are plenty of activities for small children such as a corn playhouse, a jumping pillow, and a wooden maze. Hill Ridge Farms isn't just open for the Fall, they have events through April-December with lots of seasonal activities that are perfect for family outings, school field trips, church groups, birthday parties, corporate events and more! I'm looking forward to their Festival of Lights starting November 28th.
